Privacy policy
Last updated 2 November 2026. Covers the Auspicious Today app, the web panchang at panchang.umeshpai.com and this website.
Short version: no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your settings and family days stay on your phone. To find festival dates, the app sends your town (not your exact location) to our server.
What stays on your phone
Your town, tradition, settings, reminders and family days (names and dates you enter) are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. We never receive them. Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google) may include them if you have backups turned on. Settings › Erase everything removes them from the app.
What the app sends to our server
- Festival dates: the coordinates, time zone and elevation of the town you chose, your tradition (and math, if you chose one) and the year. The dates depend on these.
- Town search: the text you type in the search box.
- Use my current location (optional): your position rounded to about 1 km, once, to find the nearest town. Your exact location never leaves the phone, and the app does not track your location in the background.
These requests carry no name, account, advertising identifier or device identifier. Our server does not store them; our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-lived technical logs of requests for security and troubleshooting, which are deleted automatically after a few days.
The web panchang (panchang.umeshpai.com)
The web version of the panchang works the same way, without an account:
- In your browser: your place (its name, coordinates, elevation and time zone), tradition, math and visarjan choice, ayanamsa, the festival categories you picked and your display choices are saved in your browser's local storage, under
panchang.settings.v1. Clearing your browser's site data removes them. No cookies are used. - Sent to our server: the place you chose (or the coordinates you typed), your tradition and the date, to work out the panchang and festivals; the text you type in the place search; and, if you tap Use my current location, your position rounded to about 1 km, once, to find the nearest town.
- Fonts: served from the web panchang itself. The page makes no requests to Google or any other third party apart from our server.
The website has no analytics, advertising or tracking. Our hosting providers (Vercel for the server, IONOS and Cloudflare for the web pages) keep short-lived technical logs of requests, including internet addresses.

This website has no scripts, no cookies, no forms, no analytics and no embedded content from anyone else; fonts and images are served from the site itself. Our web host (IONOS) and Cloudflare keep short-lived technical logs of requests, including internet addresses, for security.
Purchases
Auspicious Today Plus and gifts are bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment; we never see your payment details. The app asks the store whether Plus is active.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. No push service is used and nothing is sent to us. On Android, family-day reminders hide names on the lock screen; on iPhone they follow your Show Previews setting.
What we don't do
No advertising, no analytics or crash reporting SDKs, no selling or sharing of data, no tracking across apps or websites.
Children
The app is suitable for everyone and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we don't hold personal data about you, there is nothing for us to correct or delete; everything is on your phone and under your control. If you have a question or a request under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the GDPR or another law, write to support@auspicioustoday.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above. If the app starts sending anything new, the policy changes first.
