Worked out properly
Positions of the sun and moon come from NASA JPL’s DE440 ephemeris. The tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana use the Lahiri ayanamsa that most Indian calendars follow, and a Hindu day runs from sunrise to the next sunrise in your town.
- Sunrise and sunset for your own town, to the minute
- Festivals are rules (“Ashvina Krishna Chaturdashi at sunrise”), so each date shows why it falls when it does
- Regional calendars: Amanta and Purnimanta months, the solar calendars of the Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and Nepali traditions
Free for everyday use
The daily panchang, festivals and reminders are free for everyone, with no ads. Plus adds a few extras and keeps the app going.

Questions
Why is a festival on a different day from my printed calendar?
Dates depend on sunrise and the moon’s position in your town, and on your tradition. A calendar printed for another city or tradition can differ by a day. Choose your town and tradition in Settings; the festival page in the app explains the rule used.
Does it work without the internet?
Yes. The daily timings are calculated on your phone. Festival dates for your town are downloaded once and kept for offline use.
Which languages and traditions are supported?
The app is in English, with Sanskrit and Devanagari names for every term. Festival lists are available for the major regional traditions, including Konkani, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali and Nepali.
Is there a web version?
Yes: the web panchang works in any browser, with the same calculations.
How do I cancel Plus?
In the App Store (Settings, your name, Subscriptions) or Google Play (Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions). The free features stay.
Who makes the app?
An independent developer. Write to support@auspicioustoday.com with questions or corrections; a wrong festival date is always worth reporting.
